Gravel tours trade speed for quiet tracks and views you do not get from the road. The Riverside Gravel Intro is the gentlest: 34 km and 250 m of ascent on wide riverside tracks, suited to first-timers. The Forest Gravel Loop is a full day of 72 km and 1,050 m on pine-forest tracks and quiet farm roads, a solid step up. The Volcano Gravel Day is the toughest at 88 km and 1,600 m between extinct volcanoes and beech forest. Surfaces can be loose, so expect slower average speeds than on tarmac and bring a spare layer. Start with the intro if you have not ridden gravel before, and move up once you are comfortable on loose ground.
