Moderate tours run from about 41 to 75 km with up to 1,100 m of climbing in a day. They suit riders who cycle regularly and are comfortable with a full day in the saddle, but who do not want to be pushed to their limit. At the moment the Forest Gravel Loop is the only tour in this group: 72 km and 1,050 m on pine-forest tracks and quiet farm roads. It is long enough to feel like a real day out, yet the climbing stays within reach if you ride most weekends. Expect gravel surfaces to slow you down compared with tarmac, and eat and drink regularly.
